Teaching & Learning Webinar- Innovative Science!
This month’s Teaching & Learning webinar was all about innovative ways to teach our students science.
Here are just a few of the ideas and strategies our panelists shared:
@KovacsTeach spoke about the benefits of Making and of Maker Spaces. He explained that learning experiences should be tailored to be more like real-world workplace environments where students face unforeseen challenges. Ben shared countless examples of what you can be working on with students. Take a look at the slide deck for them all.
@wileybrazier began by stating that “students can be creative and artistic in Science” and showed us some really great examples of work they’ve done. He recommended Learning Walks and flexibility in instruction and shared his personal website at www.myPD247.com.
@MsVenturino spoke about the NGSS and all the ways she’s working with students to meet the science objectives. She spent her time discussing ways students can show mastery using mastery tasks and what those might look like.
