Teaching and Learning Webinar: K2CanToo
The focus of this month’s T&L webinar was our little ones. All three of our panelists focused on activities for our 4-8 year-old students.
Here are just a few of the ideas and strategies our panelists shared:
@mrsleonardk spoke about making sure to give your students opportunities to reflect and receive feedback. Perhaps use Google Forms, Seesaw or even video reflections. Mia shared https://bookcreator.com, Chatterpix from http://www.duckduckmoose.com/ as well as
http://www.doink.com/ among others.
@jb4tech spoke about how we tend to want to be superheroes in our classrooms – we need to be systematic about the apps and tools we use and not feel that we have to do it all! Janet said a great way to get started was with QR Codes to make it easier for students to navigate to different websites.
Janet also blew us away with Clever Badges – https://clever.com/products/badges. This product will issue a QR code for each student – they scan it into the camera of the Chromebook and it logs them into their Google Account.
@TechCoachSusan walked us through how she takes students on treks around the globe through stories while they drop pins on a Google Map to show where they’ve been. Susan uses https://www.google.com/maps to help students summarize text. You can view Susan’s resources at bit.ly/MyMapsCheatSheet.
