In this workshop, we’ll explore the components of early literacy through a variety of tools and activities designed with young learners in mind, including Seesaw, Epic Books, Flipgrid, the Google Suite, and more! These activities can be used to support early literacy instruction in traditional classroom instruction, as well as in a remote/online/blended learning model.
This session will be an overview of the five components of Early Literacy. We define each and then examine tools and best practices for teaching these things remotely. This session will cover Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary Development, and Comprehension.
See how our youngest students can CREATE with these fantastic resources. We’ll explore ways to use Google Slides and Drawings with little learners for writing, creation, and digital interactive fun! We’ll look at the basics formatting text, using shapes and lines, and adding multimedia such as images and video.
Even our littlest learners can create and collaborate using Google Workspace for Education. In this introductory-level session, we’ll get an overview and see examples of primary-aged students creating and learning with Google Workspace tools. We’ll also explore tips and tricks for managing All-Things-Google with our littlest ones. Let’s empower our youngest scholars! Tools covered will include Google Meet, Classroom, Forms, Jamboard, Docs, and Slides. Participants will leave ideas and templates to use immediately!
