In this workshop, we’ll explore the components of early literacy through a variety of tools and activities designed with young learners in mind, including Seesaw, Epic Books, Flipgrid, the Google Suite, and more! These activities can be used to support early literacy instruction in traditional classroom instruction, as well as in a remote/online/blended learning model.
This session will be an overview of the five components of Early Literacy. We define each and then examine tools and best practices for teaching these things remotely. This session will cover Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary Development, and Comprehension.
Assessments are not just about grades; it’s about learning. In this session, we’ll dig into some different ways you can do formative assessment with a focus on Google Forms. We’ll highlight several creative and traditional ways to formatively assess students and get hands-on with a couple of options you can use tomorrow.
In this session we will explore how to manage your inbox, use filters, stars and labels. We will also explore at how you can use customized lists across your school to organize email as it comes in.
A Google Form is a simple data collection tool…or is it? While it is simple and user-friendly, the possibilities are endless for use in the classroom! We will go over creating questions and sections, quiz mode, setting up a choose-your-own-adventure form, using data validation, and common settings and add-ons to truly get the most out of Forms in your daily work!
