As a parent or guardian, you’re trying to juggle working from home while simultaneously helping your children with remote learning. In some ways, you have become a Teacher’s aid and this can be overwhelming, confusing, and frustrating at times. We want to help set you up for success with this parent webinar. We will be walking you through step-by-step on how to use Google Workspace for Education, your Chromebook, Schoology, Remind and more. All of these sessions are for beginners, and we’re helping you get set up and feel comfortable navigating these tools to help support your children.

Supporting English Language Learners in Remote Learning

Needs and learning styles differ from student to student. Google Workspace for Education allows for differentiated instruction as well as accessibility features to help all students learn. In this session, you will explore some of the CORE Google Workspace apps like Docs, Slides and Classroom and learn ways that you and your students can use these tools to support learning especially for English Language Learners. We’ll also explore a variety of other tools and strategies for supporting English Language learners in synchronous and asynchronous activities.

Chromebook Tips and Tricks

Learn to make the most of your Chromebook in this fun fast-paced session! The session begins with an overview of the simple built-in features – including customizing your experience, setting up multiple users, and enabling accessibility features that are handy for everyone (like zooming in on parts of the screen while presenting). More intermediate techniques for optimization include productivity extensions, Google Drive apps to extend the productivity of Google Docs, and multi-media web apps; this middle segment is the heart of the session. It’s followed by an exploration of the best Android apps for Chromebooks, including Jamboard.
