Sharing is a narrative thread that weaves through almost every educational web tool out there. The art of leveraging “sharability” can transform classrooms and schools, empower anyone with a steak in the game one that every educator can learn and develop at a pace that works best for them.
The Myth of Mastery
With the cultural emphasis on creativity, innovation, discovery, and growth in the world we live in…Educators everywhere are faced with the ever-growing pressure to become some better version of themselves. The reality is the pressure to create and master are far outweighed by the need to connect, share, experiment, learn and repeat. This will be a conversation about moving beyond these and other myths around what it means to be a professional learner in the 21st century.
Sergio Villegas is a Google Certified Innovator, Trainer, and Director of Professional Learning for EdTechTeam. Though classically trained as a high school science teacher, instructional coach, and AVID/ELL specialist, Sergio has worked as an instructional technology administrator for the Napa County Office of Education, working to support the EdTech side of our districts PBL and BYOD initiative. Sergio also has experience working as a university instructor, sat on the board of multiple CA Bay Area non-Profits, and has a Masters in Education with an emphasis in Online and Blended Learning from Touro University.
