  • Abbey Futrell is currently the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for Edgecombe County Public Schools located in North Carolina. Prior to deciding to follow her heart back to a school district, she served as a Digital Innovation Coach with the Professional Learning and Leading Collaborative at North Carolina State University’s Friday Institute for Educational Innovation. Her work with the Friday Institute encompassed a commitment to coaching teachers, redefining professional development experiences, and serving as one of the lead facilitators for the North Carolina Digital Leaders Coaching Network. She frequently presents and keynotes at national education conferences and has moderated Future Ready Summits sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education.

    Abbey’s collective 16 plus years in education include providing educational services for educators at the local, district, regional and state level, as well as experience as a public school middle grades Language Arts teacher, secondary English Literature teacher, district Instructional Technology Facilitator, 6-12 Instructional Coach and Professional Development Consultant with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

    Abbey’s spare time (whatever that is) is spent searching for new ways to help teachers help students, reading with a tall glass of lemonade, specifically Chick-fil-A or Simply Lemonade, and cooking beautiful meals while listening to New Edition. Amy speaks internationally and facilitates learning experiences for the education and corporate sectors. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts (UK), an Apple Teacher, and a Google Education Innovator. In addition to Intention: Critical Creativity in the Classroom, she authored Innovation-themed curricula for a global education start-up, and works as a professional illustrator/animator. She is well known for her “History for Music Lovers” series on YouTube.

  • Andrew is a Google Certified Innovator and Trainer and the Regional Director for EdTechTeam in the UK.  A former Assistant Headteacher, Geography Teacher and SLE at a Google for Education Reference School, Andrew received an Inspirational Educator Award from the Worshipful Company of Educators in 2016.   • Chris Betcher is a passionate educational technologist committed to assisting teachers and students to use digital technology in engaging, creative and meaningful ways. Based in Sydney, he has taught in Australia and Canada, and regularly presents at events across Australia, New Zealand and around the world.

    Chris has extensive classroom experience teaching art, design, graphics, video, multimedia and computing to students from K-12. In 2013 he was recognised as the ICT Educator of the Year by Australia’s ISTE affiliate, the Australian Council for Computers in Education. Chris holds a Bachelor of Education (Art), and is also a Google Certified Innovator, Google for Education Certified Trainer, Google Certified Administrator, and Adobe Education Leader.

    Chris has a curious mind, asks way too many questions, and likes making interesting things out of zeroes and ones.

  • Originally from Southern California, “Sociologist turned Technologist,” Dee Lanier is a passionate and energetic educator and learner with over a decade of instructional experience on the K-12 and collegiate level. Dee holds Undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Sociology with special interests in education, race relations, and inequality. Dee served at Crossroads Charter High School as a full-time Vocational Studies teacher, Testing Coordinator and Title I Director then went on to become the Technology Catalyst for the Lower School at Trinity Episcopal School. He was also an Executive Director of a national nonprofit and a founding board member and tech coach at Charlotte Lab School. Dee is a Google Certified Trainer and Innovator and specializes in creative applications for mobile devices and Chromebooks, low-cost makerspaces, and gamified learning activities.   • Emma is a Google Certified Teacher and all-things-EdTech enthusiast! She first experienced the transformative power of educational technology when her secondary English classroom was awarded a grant for Google Chromebooks; she committed to going completely digital in the classroom and hasn’t looked back since. Emma is passionate about using technology to reach 100% student engagement, differentiate instruction, save time, increase efficiency, and much more. Just as every student learns differently, Emma knows that each teacher and classroom needs a unique digital toolbox to achieve their learning goals. She is confident in her ability to provide the right set of EdTech programs for every educator through clear, comprehensive, hands-on training. Originally from the US, Emma has experience teaching in both the US and UK school systems.

Gabriel Muñoz
  • Gabriel Muñoz is passionate about education and technology. He has provided training to Education Professionals in Mexico and various countries in Latin America. His main interest is to promote the empowerment of teachers to take ownership of technology and develop technological skills that can help them implement technology in their educational activities and personal life. His education is in Educational Psychology and holds certifications as a Google for Education Certified Innovator and Trainer, and Moodle and Linux specialist. He has implemented and coordinated several online education platforms, including an undergraduate degree from the National Pedagogical University (UPN), where he also taught technology to academic staff.

  • George Barcenas is the Technology Coordinator/CTE for Bellevue Union School District. Trained as a PE teacher he has taught High School English, Spanish and coached Basketball from Middle School all the way to College. Technology has always been in his teaching from creating commercials in Spanish class to work on vocabulary to creating a production of Romeo and Juliet with zombies… He now teaches coding, G Suite and video design with iMovie and Adobe After Effects. In his current role he also works with teachers find the right tool to help the students. His passion for teaching has found a place with Google apps for education and pushing the boundaries of being geeky.

  • Heather Dowd, EdTechTeam Program Coordinator and Dynamic Learning Project Mentor, is a teacher who helps other teachers use technology in meaningful ways for student learning. Teaching English in Japan inspired her to become a teacher and the adventure hasn’t stopped. Heather is a Google for Education Certified Innovator and Trainer, Apple Distinguished Educator, and author of “Classroom Management in the Digital Age” where she encourages teachers to set the learning free with a solid classroom management plan. She is a former physics teacher, instructional designer, and education technology coach who loves talking about physics, digital citizenship, coaching, spreadsheets, and design. She believes that students should have access to current technology in order to connect to the world and be creative in ways that weren’t possible when she was in school.

  • Starting his teaching career in New Zealand, Kern is the Director of Student Agency for EdTechTeam Inc. and Technology Integrator at Regional School Unit #19 in central Maine. He has provided support to educators for over a decade and has conducted professional development across the globe. He has always loved working with students with a special focus on having them teach others. He advises a student produced support show broadcast at Maine’s Technology Teacher of the Year, he has brought his student presenters the Tech Sherpas to numerous conferences around the world and recently co-authored the Google Apps Guidebook with his students.

Juan De Luca
  • Currently, Juan is the EdTechTeam Regional Director in Mexico. With a group of certified educational technology trainers, he supports public and private educational institutions to foster innovation and develop better learning and teaching environments with the use of technology. Before that, he worked at the Google Mexico office with the Education team, leading several implementation projects. Previously, Juan was an independent educational consultant. He helped schools assess their technology needs and develop strategies to enhance their teaching and learning practices with digital tools. Prior to this, Juan served as the Director of Technology at The Langley School in McLean, VA. There, he lead the articulation and implementation of the instructional technology program, with a strategic vision to support its full integration into the curriculum. He started his education career at The American School Foundation (ASF) in Mexico City, where he served various K-12 teaching and leadership roles for 10 years. Additionally, as an adjunct professor for SUNY Buffalo, he has taught several educational technology courses at Master’s level.

    Juan has a Master’s in Educational Technology and Training. He was the first Google Certified Teacher in Mexico (2012), the first Google Education Trainer in Latin America (2010) and part of the first cohort of Apple Distinguished Educators in Mexico (2011). He is a frequent presenter at national and international educational conferences.

Kimberley Hall

  • Kimberley Hall holds a Bachelor of Education, specialising in English and Social Studies with a background in linguistics. She has teaching and leadership experience across Primary, Secondary, Higher Ed, as well as teaching students with additional needs. She worked as an eLearning and Learning and Teaching Advisor for several years and loves how her current position with EdTechTeam enables her to connect and learn with educators around the world. Kimberley was the first female in Australia to be both a Google for Education Certified Innovator and Certified Trainer and was awarded the Department of Education’s ‘Most Outstanding Graduate Teacher’ early in her career. She designs featured workshops and keynote presentations for conferences around the globe, specialising in assisting leaders and educators to make the most of technology for efficiencies and transformation of practice. Kimberley misses teaching kids in classrooms almost daily but is lucky to have lots of little people in her life with whom she can test out all her crazy ideas!

  • Lindsay is a passionate education visionary who began her career as a classroom teacher and later progressed to school management and teacher training in her capacity as EdTech Innovation Leader at Parklands College. Lindsay claimed the EduWeek ‘Teacher of Tomorrow’ Award for her outstanding contribution to the South Africa education sector in 2016 and is the two-time winner of the South African ‘iTeacher’ Award. Lindsay is a Google Certified Educator and Trainer, an Apple Professional Learning Specialist a member of the Apple Distinguished Educator Class of 2015 and an international keynote speaker. She is currently reading her Masters in Education at Stellenbosch University, with a focus on teacher professional development. In her role as the Senior Innovation Coach at CloudEd Solutions, she works with teachers and school leaders, engaging in teacher training and change management associated with the implementation of educational technologies in South African classrooms and beyond, living to inspire and empower others to confidently navigate the changing educational landscape.

  • Lisa Highfill describes herself as a thinker, philosopher, debater, and geek. She was a classroom teacher for over twenty years, and is currently Pleasanton Unified School District’s technology integration specialist. Working in the ed tech field since 1998 when she earned her Master’s Degree in Ed Tech Leadership, she went on to become a Google Certified Innovator, a YouTube Star Teacher, a Merit Fellow, and a Leading Edge Digital Educator. Lisa is the co-creator and co-author of The HyperDoc Handbook and Teachers Give Teachers.

  • After spending almost 20 years as both a music educator and technology coordinator, Mark Hammons left these roles to help start Breakout EDU, the immersive learning games platform in March of 2015. As a Co-Founder at Breakout EDU, Mark now works to make classrooms a fun and engaging learning ecosystem. Mark holds an M.A. in Educational Technology specializing in mobile learning and instructional design and is recognized by technology companies such as Apple & Google for his international work in Educational Technology.

  • With nearly 12 years of education experience, Meagan Kelly is an educator with a wide-range of experiences across all grade levels, as well as experience in private, charter, and public schools. While the majority of her time was spent as a middle school Math teacher, she has also taught AVID, Computer Science, Science, and Latin. In addition to her roles as a teacher, Meagan has been a Team Technology Leader, Blended Learning Specialist, AVID Coordinator, Administrative Designee, and has performed various other leadership roles within her school sites. As an educator, Meagan is passionate about using technology to transform and individualize the learning experiences for students. She has regularly used instructional strategies such as flipped learning, project-based learning, and blended learning in her 1-1 classroom. Through these strategies, she has created an environment where students are actively engaged in learning that meets content standards while also preparing them to use these skills in the real-world. Meagan believes that, if you can create an engaging and meaningful space for learning, then the learning opportunities for students are endless. In addition to her classroom experience, Meagan is a Google Certified Trainer and Innovator. Natasha has immersed herself into the instructional technology space and has earned several certifications, awards and accomplishments, some of which include: Google Certified Trainer, Microsoft innovative Educator, Apple Teacher, Surface Educator, Flipgrid Ambassador, and Star Discovery Educator. Most recently, Natasha was selected to take part in the Our Voice Academy through EdTechTeam, a group of minority educational technology leaders from across the nation. Prior to this, Paty worked at the American School Foundation in Mexico City as a Science and Math teacher for Middle School and served other leadership roles for 10 years. Her teaching career started working as a teacher for Middle School at Princeton Day School in Princeton, New Jersey. Rich Lambert
  • Rich Lambert is Principal of Antonio Park Primary School in Mitcham, Victoria. He has worked in government primary schools for more than a decade, specialising in the impact new technologies can and should have on teaching and learning practices. Rich was Assistant Principal at Kalinda Primary School for 7 years, during which time he led one of the first school wide implementations of Google Apps in an Australian school, and a few years later, one of the first roll outs of Chromebooks in an Australian school. In his spare time, he is an education consultant, speaker, author, teacher trainer in the areas of Google Apps, Inquiry Learning, 1:1 classrooms and best practice pedagogy. Rich has also worked as Project Officer with Deakin University, working with school leaders and teaching teams across a network of Primary and Secondary schools on a project aimed at leveraging technology to enhance student learning growth in Numeracy. Rich’s school leadership work has been featured by ACARA, Education Services Australia, and the Victorian Department of Education & Training as an example of best practice. Tracy has worked as a K-7 classroom teacher, library media specialist and technology integration specialist, and has worked in both the public education system and Indigenous education. Tracy loves sharing her excitement and knowledge about technology with her colleagues, students, and all those who want to learn! PLC is a BYOD school in Years 9-12 and 1:1 iPads in Years 5 – Year 8. He teaches Business, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Legal Studies and Economics. He has delivered workshops and symposiums throughout Australia on how educators can leverage ICT in any educational setting. Wes has aMasters in Education (ICT) with a focus on games in education and learning management systems.
